    no there brand new this is a retiler not just a hobbiest

    You could get a new Coralvue 48" Dual 175 watt Metal Halide/T-5 retro kit that comes with electronic ballasts and all the bulbs and reflector for $500. The CoralVue Ballast also has a 3 year warranty and is also electronic. Just a thought.

    do you think the 250w (total 692w) would be better than the 175w (total 542W) for my 75gal tank. if so what do you think the difference in the electric bill would be?

    If it were me I would go with the 250's. They will give you more flexibility for livestock choices. With an electronic ballast i would think the difference in the electric bil would be very minimal. I feel the 250 watt is the best all around wattage for a reef tank. The coralVue 50 watt MH/T-5 retro kit is only $12 more than the 175 wat kit.
