Does any one know how a white or green mermaid's wine glass will do in a home aquarium. It's a algae and its scientific name is Acetabularia crenulata.
I would like to find out more before get some. I've been doing some reach but there is not a lot of info out there. They're very pretty.

It's beautiful ... for algae! People have kept it in aquariums before, so I know it's possible. It's a calcified algae, so it probably grows slowly, and everything that I've found says it has modest lighting requirements.

I suspect it would be safe to try. I'd be interested to hear how it goes.

let me know if you find a place that sells it.
I'd be interested in buying some of it myself.

If any one is intrested in any marine plants, and need some idea of what type they want, I know of over 20 different types of plants (they're all algea). Just tell me what plant kingdom you're intrested in.

Way cool! I'd like to have a tank with that mixed with some shaving brush.

Another nice one is the white vein sargassum. It looks like a house plant. I can't find a picture to show you, but maybe you would some luck if you do a search. The mermaid's wine glass is on order.
