So I lost everything in my tank due to Marine Velvet.

I am curious as to if velvet effects corals.

All of the livestock minus the cuc is out of the DT. I have read that I should go approx. 5 weeks before adding fish again in order to get the velvet out. does this sound about right to anyone else who has experienced this.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I believe the minimum fallow period for Velvet is 8-10 weeks, it might have changed but I do believe that is recommended time period.

No Velvet does not infect corals or inverts.

    Good luck
