All I have now is two hermit crabs and 2 snails.. I ordered a medium size clean up crew, so it shouldn't be too much

I second what everyone has said - lighting and nutrient issues. That is a very small CUC for a 90 - I think the crew will help a lot!

I ran into this issue when I upgraded to t5 ho on my 55g.

I cut the lighting schedule, did some water changes, manually removed the algae, got more cleaning crew.

    UPDATE
I had it basically under control for a couple months or so.. I added a refugium, a clean up crew, and did weekly water changes. BUT now within the last 2-3 weeks its starting to return again, in big isolated patches! Is very isolated for some reason, a lot of spots seem to be towards the back area of the live rock and on the spots where the light diffuser under the sand is exposed.

if your numbers are still good and if your using methods to control nitrates and phosphates try increasing flow to those areas. hair algae lays dormant until conditions are rite for an attack.

Maybe the lighting and the no clean up crew. Once you get the clean up crew it should go away

Midnight, do you have a TDS meter for your RODI unit? If not then get one. If your just changing the filters and resin every so often without knowing the TDS then this is where a problem could be.

I also cut back on feeding a bit. I just don't know what else to do to stop it. I seems that it isn't growing on the liverock anymore, just in those odd places
