my mag is now 1500 and i have been using epsom salt for about 10 days. I have now added cal everyday and don't get a change. so yesterday i added about 3 tablespoons of turbo calcium to get a big increase but i tested it after and no change. i know this is more involving cal than mag but i just need help. I need 450 cal levels.

    HL14,

What is your Alk reading? Also, be a bit careful trying to get an instant Calc boost. Snow storms are very messy indeed :)

    Sorry HL14,

I also meant to ask what the current Calcium levels are and why you think that you need 450ppm, my apologies.

it says i have to add 86 grams of my turbo cal. It says below that i can add 1/2 now then the other half in a couple of days. I haven't done a water change in 3 weeks. i was doing like 10 and 15 gal. to get rid of some phosphates.

Well HL14, Sounds reasonable to me :)

Unless you see a need to change water, then don't do any changes until you get the calcium level up. Doing water changes will only complicate the issue in the short term IMHO
