Does this make it strong enough to scrape coralline?

yes. to a certain extent though. if it is just starting to build up a few swipes will get rid of it. if its really thick coraline (like on back glass if its let go) a razor will work better. on viewing glass this works like a charm.

hopefully everyone has been enjoying it!

Have been doing this since last summer.

    LOVE IT.

Change out the pads every month or two.

Get three at a time for like $2.00 from wally world.

Also seems that every time the magfloat is dormant for a few days - it become a mini pod' gathering spot - so the fish get a nice little treat when I force them off before cleaning.

    Awesome, simple, effective MOD!

    Thanks!

I'm ordering some dobies as well. I have the smaller afloat, so I may be able to make 2 replacement mesh out of one dobie.

I'll post back when its all installed. I've also scratched my glass due to sand getting in between the magfloat threads (?). I would think u have the same risks with this mod, since sand will scratch glass easily if enough pressure is applied on it, while against the glass.
