I tried the pad on the 113 in an inconspicuous place and it doesn't look as if it scratched the low lead glass of my tank. So I'm guessing it'll be fine on the Starfire glass.

I'm gonna give this a shot with my magnetic scraper. I keep getting sand stuck in mine, and I've scratched my glass a little. Hopefully this will take care of the sand issue!

I was razoring my glass and I must have hit silicone, came back the next day and my ten gallon had leaked halfway empty, all my corals lived, but my days of "shaving" my glass mare over now I know about this! Thanks!

I'e been using this DIY since th OP DboShibby. It is a great and easy DIY. I used it on a smaller magfloat and just superglued to end shut where I had cut the dobie pad open. Works better than the regular mag-float IMO. Thanks again DBOSHIBBY!!
