    Apart from nutrient export, marine plants and algae release dissolved oxygen as a byproduct of photosynthesis. This increases the dissolved oxygen for fish and inverts, and stabilizes the ph 24/7 if kept in a sump on an opposite photoperiod as the display lights.

    Which is why I have some red gracilaria in my display and some chaeto in a refugium.

    The right macro is a good thing.
