I have a really loud clicking in my 29g nano and I have never seen a mantis shrimp. I just have very active LR from the Caribbean (~26lbs) and 4 Peppermint Shrimp (to cure a problem). What other hitchhikers produce this loud clicking?

Side note: I saw a bright orange millipede (sp?) looking thing run out or my LR and into another crevice a few times.

Pistol shrimp. The "millepede" is a bristleworm.

nice looking live rock... looks promising but definately a bristle worm (the milliped looking thing) If your live rock is that 'active' maybe you have inherited a mantis shrimp that is hiding?

I doubt it's a mantis. I'm pretty sure I got my rock from the same place when I started, and while they say mantis can hitchhike, my rock had about 40 to 50 pistol shrimp in it when I got it.

It's pretty much constant popping, correct? With maybe 30 seconds max between pops?
