This is interesting, I seem to recall that when I joined 3reef there were some user preferences that I could select and I think one may have been how many replies to display per page. When I view this thread it is only 4 pages long. Either way, you can check out post #75 or take our word for it that the answer to the quiz is Percula.
I go with percs since I have the occ and mince do have the thick black lines like in the pic
So were you sold the fish being claimed as a perc?
Let's doa DNA sample to really tell what it is.
My guess is that the percula and ocellaris lines are so blurred from interbreeding that it may be very difficult if maybe not even possible to tell the difference now days.
Unless it was in fact collected from the wild with no uncertainty, you don't have any guarantee to be one or the other. It very well may be a cross breed.
Does the # of spines on their dorsal fins logic still hold true? I think it would, and if so it is a false perc, not a true perc.
