    Hey guys,
I wanted a general idea on how long you think i should be running my lights. I have a 125 gallon tank with two pcs(1) actinic (1) 10000k, and a homemade moonlight. Currently I run the actinic from 6 am until 10 pm, the 10000k runs from 8 am until 8 pm. The moonlight runs from 10 pm until 6 am. Does this sound like a pretty length of time to run the lights? I also have an 18 watt compact I run on my refugium 24/7. Your input would be great.

IMO I would say 8 to 10 hours for the Actinic's and 6 to 8 for the daylight bulbs. If you have your lights on to long you may get an Alga bloom.

What are the wattages on the PC's you have?

    The Rule of thumb is.

3 to 5 Rule of Thumb Formula Examples
    3-5 Watts X 55 Gallons = 165 to 275 Watts
    3-5 Watts X 75 Gallons = 225 to 375 Watts
    3-5 Watts X 150 Gallons = 450 to 750 Watts

Now this is JMO I am sure that there are different opinions on this..................................... John
