    You'd probably need to ask someone familiar with acrylic fabrication that, I know you wouldn't be able to get a strong enough bond between acrylic and glass, but since the bracing and trim are plastic... maybe? I'd seek out professional help for a question like that though, if it doesn't work the tank could bow out and burst without the center brace.

    I have seen many people remove the black brace and use acrylic. Just leave about an inch of black on each end to mount the acrylic too. I'm currently using a coralife retro fit setup on a 90 and it works great. It consists of 2 150 watt mh, 2 96 watt cf, and 4-1watt LED lunar lights. I'm growing sps at a pretty rapid rate and have a clam in the sand bed that is happy.
