Too many people are too uneducated and ignorant on matters that they feel the need to open their yappers about. We live in a tech world of small snippets of information designed to shock and grab your attention. Unfortunately, too many people are idiots and don't follow thru and actually learn about the snippet they just read.

Kill em with kindness and knowledge. Knowledge trumps stupid every time;)

Here's what I don't understand. Why are these people NOT against cats? Household domestic regular ole cats. They've done damage WAY worse and more wide spread than any Lionfish has and the feral population was started by people not fixing their cats and by.... drum roll..... owner abandonment. I figure the story of the kitty cat invasion paralleled with the Lionfish should get a few people thinking.

good point, feral cats are decimating the bird population in the US. even to the point of endangering some species! But cats are soft and fuzzy!lol

You are absolutely correct, and there is no good answer, unfortunately. Lots of invasive species in and around the country- wild pigs, zebra mussels, Asian stink bugs, Flathead catfish in MD and PA, Blue cats in the Chesapeake, and the list goes on and on. But nobody seems to care about anything but Lionfish and Pythons... makes no sense at all, and to make matters even more nonsensical, the only thing they're "doing" about it is deriding responsible owners.

Well you see people dont wana eat cats but they seem tyo be ok eating lionfish cause ik there are people trying to find a way to eat them. And you can turn pythons into clothinhg and belts soo ya its funny how we can put somthing in order of how we can use them before how it could harm our environment

Good point with the cats, they seem to overrun neighborhoods. Besides stickbugs what about japanease beatles!!!

I think eventually things will settle out, it is part of evolution and adaptation. THe strong will survive and the weak will parish. Fish species will evolve and become used to lionfish and find ways to thrive with them in their habitat or parish and predators will eventually evolve to eat lionfish. Sadly, us humans introduce a species into habitats they do not belong and they soon change the ecosystem but once it is done it is done. Just like the snakeheads in the mississippi and connecting waterways, once they are there they are impossible to eradicate. Unfortunatly we are dumb enough to think we can eradicate a species hence purposly poisoning all those lakes to kill every living inhabitant EXCEPT the snakeheads as a method to attempt to eradicate them.

A bit of an aside, but as a suggestion perhaps you might want to put a poster/statement on/near your booth at future trade shows which discloses your position on the situation?
