LED lighting?

    A little of both I bought the glass and am building the fram for the tank out of metal so it wont look so bulky as the plastic does. (or try any way)

    and ill be building the stand and possibiy the light as well also this is a home made diy led moonlight set up i mad for around 10 dollars

    so there are no corals that you dont have to feed and just live off life?

    I belive Zoas are ones that feed off light and im sure you have to suplment some sort of food because unlike the ocean there is no continues source of fresh nutrients from the world and all the orgnisms in the water. Having said that some are really easy some are really hard IMO

    There are plenty of serious reefers using leds. As long as your tank is not extremely deep leds are definitely the best choice for reef tanks.Yes the fixtures are expensive but the cost in bulb replacement and power use make these the cheapest way to do your reef lighting.Plus you don't have to worry about tha spectrum changing over time.

    Corals feed on fish poop and pee, as well little bits of food you feed the fish, and ofcourse carbon produces by their symbiotic algae..
    So they actually don't need to be fed directly(probably should have used that qualifier exactly) like I said earlier.

    edit: oh I forgot they feed on bacteria also.

    the qualifier, "directly" originally I said most corals don't need to be fed.
    I should have said most corals don't need to be fed directly.

    But dont somme corals feed off photosynthis? or am i mistaken?
