LED Evolution Could Replace Light Bulbs
Yeah! Have you seen on some of the nano forums? People are DIYing LED hoods with like, one and two dozen LEDs! It's pretty craaaazzzyyyy!!! ;D
I can't get that link open. Do you have any other on the subject?
But as far as LEDs go. Lets see next to no heat, very very long life, and the ability to wave solder them in to any odd corner or hex tank you have. You could aslo wire them in any number of way to create true and graduall diming. Your see them in traffic lights and car tail lights. The clock is ticking on normal light bulbs
With the amount of LEDs currently needed, heat is a major factor. They're not all that cool. If you went with a bunch of Luxeon 5w'ers, you'd get the PAR needed, along with the same amount of heat as a MH
There not out yet but are worth developing.
