led crashed the tank

    Did you acclimate your tank to the LED's??? LEDs are more intense then PC's. If you didnt acclimate your tank to the lights, of course everything is going to run from the lights. Macroalgae does't like intense lights. Thats how I use to tell when it was time to change bulbs. When the macro started growing in the tank, I new the intensity was gone.

    Wow. I have heard a lot of things about LEDs, but I've never heard of them crashing a tank before. If you didn't acclimate the tank to the lights, I bet geek is right.

    Two panels of leds on a 55 gallon tank? Their site shows using two panels used on a 10 ! For a 55, it looks like they expect 10 arrays, not two.

    Clearly LEDs, Lighting Arrangement
    That might be the problem

    it was for a 10 gallon tank.i have sveral tanks here.i now have a 40watt sunpaq over the tank and everything is very well.problem solved.

    Opps. I just saw you had a 55, and assumed it was the tank you were talking about.
