    I never used the dimming feature. I called Ushio, and they recommended only running the bulb at the rated wattage, or it could shorten the life. I just cut my photoperiod down to 4 hrs. I then added 1/2 hr every 2 days until I am now at 6 hrs with 11 hr actinics. That seems to be the sweet spot. Corals are all thriving like never before!!:)
