Lavender tang?

I was told this was a lavender tang. I am having a hard time finding juvi pics. This guy is about the size of a silver dollar. I know what adult lavender tangs look like in hawaii.. Is this one of those fish that same genus and species ( acantharus nigrofuscus) look totally different from different regions?

 

seems to be the right shape all the fins seem to match but the color is off best i can tell in the photo check this link

color dosent mean much though ive seen some of my fish in the bast when changeing from jv to ad go through many color changes also how long has it bin in the tank some of my tangs in the past would be a off color till thay get use to the tank

 

I have seen that picture on live aquaria and my tang looks just like that... So at this point I am convincing myself that that is a photo of a juvi lavender tang. They are waaaaay prettier as adults!

Yes that is the hawaiian lavender tang. They are also known as brown cheek surgeon.

 

This is my 5" Lavender. They are incredibly hard to get good pictures of...too fast for my camera haha

Mine has a tiny bit of an attitude. Not gonna lie. HATES my Helfrichi Firefish and bullied him until he no longer comes out :-/
