Some members had requested i start a thread highlighting my current project. I am installing a large reef tank at a clients residence and will try to add pictures as I go through it and remember to bring the camera, of course.

The client is upgrading a 220 gallon reef with mostly soft corals or large polyp stonies. He may venture into some SPS but has not requested that the new system be built to accomidate them (mostly with respect to lighting wattage).

Here are the details to date:

    - 96" x 30" x 36" tall - 435 gallon +/-
    - 3/4" tempered starfire on front and two end panels
    - 3/4" tempered bottom
    - 2 overflow boxes
    - Closed loop powered by Reeflow Gold Dart at 3800gph
    - Oceans Motions 4 way flow diverter
    - Return pump Reeflow Gold Dart (some return flow diverted)
    - Bullet-3 style skimmer built locally but with re-circulating pump design
    - Reeflow Wahoo for skimmer re-circulating through venturi at 1550 gph
    - Aqua Medic Ca Reactor
    - 5 x 250 watt M.H. with 20000k AB bulbs
    - 8 x 55 watt T-5 fluorescent actinic
    - Central spill tank to calm water and remove bubbles/ house Ca reactor
    - Refugium/ Frag Tank
    - Algae filter
    - 36 gallon water change reservoir and 36 gallon online/ offline tank
    - Neptune controller

I will post some startup pictures I took last week. Stay tuned, I will try to keep up with this thread.

Alright. I hope these come out a resonable size. The first few are of the existing tank.

The existing tank pics are stunning - what a beautiful aquarium you have there!

Good luck with the new tank too. I look forward to seeing more.

    Overtime for an update

Well I received an email today from the forum regarding the card contest and it spurred me into checking out my old posts.

I realized that I had never posted the updated pics on the new build so I will try to remember my camera the next time I am there (tomorrow).

The tank has been going for about 2.5 years and has settled in nicely.

Sorry about the huge delay but I will try to get on it soon.

    Cheers
    Kelly
