I'm pretty sure this IS the chinese cheap version. I see this brand all over the street in Hong Kong, plus other cheap chinese brands (like weipro, aqua japan, byd, etc..) Chinese manufacturers love to put japanese all over their packaging to 'increase sales'.

That being said, the pictures of this product do look superior to the usual ones i see. Maybe i'll go take a look tmr.

So i took a stroll down to fish street today. I don't know about you guys, but this sure looks like the same thing to me. The Aqua Lily, by Cyber Aqua.

My guess is that Kotobuki is a legit japanese company with a very good marketing department/photography crew. I'm convinced this is the same CHINA product, just OEM'd to the Kotobuki model.

The pics below are not mine, I did not take them, but you can tell from the timestamp that these 'china leds' have been on the street for a while now.

(Actually, it wouldnt be so hard for me to bulk buy/ship these. If there's enough interest, I'd be happy to do it for the 3reef community)

Here's 2 pics of a very similar model - the Aqua Rose.

LED placement seems to be the same, just in a thinner body.

Man I love having 3reefers in China. 8) Great work rickz. I think you cracked the case on this one. k+

NOTE: Due to recent events, GROUP BUYS are not allowed on 3reef. However, you can take that thought offline if you get enough interest. Thanks for your understanding here.

BACK TO this LED fixture -

One thing that has me a bit perplexed is how this fixture could be rated at 3 watts. There is obviously an array of LEDs in those fixtures. Could they really total 3 watts?
