    easiest way to clean that sand would be to place small amounts (coffee can full) into a 5 gallon bucket then use a hose end to flush the sand. Just let the water overflow the bucket until it's clean then dump on a towel and let dry. Repeat until it's all clean :)

    Can you be sure there are no traces of metals like copper, or chemicals in the rock? I'd be weary of re-using it.
