I have been using the green seaweed variety and was wondering if anyone knows the benefit of using the purple or red would be. They seem to like the green, thought to maybe mix it up but wasn't sure if they are any better than the green.

Each species of algae contains different things. For instance, reds, and to a lesser extent, the purples have higher concentrations of carotenoids, which benefit fish coloration.

If i remember correctly they sell a julian sprungs veggie that has all three mixed for you. I bought some of that for my tomini tangs and they loved it. That was like 4 years ago though)

My Tangs love the purple. They even prefer it to the green.

I bought the red, it's weird, it's like a dried up whole tobacco leaf. They didn't enjoy it as much as the green, my lawn mower and yellow tang rip the green up they nibbled at the red.
