I have now redone both lines. I also completely drained and cleaned the sump today. That was a fun 2 hour process (including building a new drain line). Here she sits. I will say it's much quieter now, I'm not sure how. I plan to get another filter sock for the refugium side. It collected way too much stuff before.

I personally wouldn't (and don't) use one, especially for the 'fuge side. Go without one and see how you like it. I used one for about a week until I had enough and have been filter sock free for over a year!

It's been without it, for like 8 months. As stated, I didn't like it... it collected way too much crap. Any time I was in there for anything, stuff got very messy and disturbed. It was gross cleaning it out. The sock would mean only chaeto bits would end up on bottom. I'm ok with that... not with the "sludge" that started accumulating.

I should update this, since there are some bigger changes coming soon!
    1) Picked up a Tunze ATO unit
    2) Picked up a 20 gallon Brute to hold the top off water and kalkwasser
    3) Picked up a new pH probe and calibrating solution

I'll also be picking up the rest of the stuff for my full spectrum LEDs soon.

The Tunze ATO is installed. I decided to move to a 32 gallon Brute instead of the 20. The pH probe is in, but even after calibrating, reads 0.4 pH units low. In better news, pH is super steady.

I'll continue talking to myself lol. I just brought online a pH probe with my Apex. I used the BRS probe and unfortunately, after calibrating it and everything... it reads 0.4-0.5 units low. I checked this with the calibrating fluid (pH 10 = 9.48 on the probe). Tank water reads at 7.8... which I'm interpreting at 8.2-8.3 ish. It held almost perfectly all night (refugium is on overnight) and it dropped to 7.72 over 8 hours. I'm digging the stability. I just wish it would read the pH correctly :\ I contacted Neptune to see what they can do about it. Unfortunately, I'm out of calibrating fluid now.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Nice job on the islands, I like the little cave with the shrimp hanging out.

    Beautiful tang and angel.

How long has this tank been running?
