Is this Aiptasia?

    so, should I take the rock out of the water so the little pest moves up in it's hole?

    To apply kalk paste or inject? You can leave it in the water to take care of it. Whatever you do, don't try to pluck it out. That sucker will just multiply faster.

    update, I got a peppermint shrimp from the lfs.

    it didnt kill it completely, I saw it punch it a few times.

    Good thread. I just found a monster aiptasia in my tank last night and I was wondering what to do about it. I'll try some kalk paste today I think.

    By the peppermint shrimp pinching the aptasia spores have been released into the tank. I have been messing w/ aptasia x at work and find that it comes back even worse each time. The only method that I have found that works is removing the rock and cutting the part of the rock that the aptasia is on off.

    What if you put the rock in a tub of freshwater for a few days? Will that kill the aiptasia?

    Well then don't do that! The coral for sure would not be happy.
