Maximas like to be up higher, but can deal with a lot of different amounts of light.

What about under 520 watts of PC lighting?

Tank is 24"deep and lights are 12" above water.

I have wanted one also but want a blue clam, not brown.

I wouldn't chance a maxima or a crocea any less than 12" away from PC lighting but thats just me. I agree with horkin, a maxima should do OK around half way up newreefs tank, providing the tank is mature and stable enough.

I have two 4 x 65w pc fixtures above the tank. Got them cheap.

I agree with iLLwill on this. I have a crocea that I kept under pc's but it was only about 8" from the light. I recently upgraded to T5's and moved it about half way down.

They are PC's. Not too much. Probably less than 2 - 250 watt MH's. Lightings not that great but someday I will upgrade. 6 months of being laid off has slowed my upgrading plans.

Civil engineering is a little slow. Come On people buy and sell those houses. You know you want a nice new house in a big new subdivision. LOL.

wait, what?? your saying your 520 watts of PC light probably consume less than 500 watts of halides? so your the guy that thought my single pane windows would insulate better than doubles on my new house!!! :p
