    Hi friends,
Is there any harm in feeding gold fish food to my cichlids? I’m running out of fish food and I have plenty of gold fish food and want to use some with my cichlids so I don’t have to go out and buy more. Is there any other suggestions?

They should be ok for a couple of days...at most..but that type of food may cloud your tank and if over fed...nitrates will take their toll.Good luck!!

Flakes will be fine. I wouldn't feed them only flakes as a permanent diet, but some flakes won't harm them. I feed mine a mix of Cichlid pellets, shrimp pellets, flake food and meatier foods like Krill and Mysis. Feeding them a variety of foods is good for them.
