hello all currently i am starting my 2.5g pico tank and i have 3 hermit crabs in it. I have had two molt in the last 36 hours. My question is how much will that effect the water? is it something i should remove immediately or can it linger for a bit. I have noticed they will pick at it and eat some.

I don't think you need to worry about quick removal but I'd take out when you can - I would think it could affect water quality if left in there

I've always left it in. All it does is help calcium a bit. There usually isn't any flesh on the molts.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
The hermit probably molted because of the water quality. Make sure all is well and the SG is in check.
