Lindsey's post is spot on the money.

I also have upwards of 10,000 GPH in my tank (190). Two MP40s, two MP10s, and an Eheim 1262 as a return.

You can only have too much flow if you have a constant sandstorm of if you LPS can't hold onto their skeletons. :)

Strong, random flows is very important for SPS, often overlooked and/or disregarded.

If you truly have inadequate flow on an acro, RTN will be the result. Flow lets corals breath. It lets them feed. It carries away their waste. Needless to say, it's important.

High flow makes most SPS grow denser, and grow faster.

I suppose really high flow can make things grow more dense than some people might like. Exhibit A; a birdsnest grown from a frag in my tank:

I'm very tempted to right now.

Do you run the wave mode?

What kind of sway do you get in your polyps? Any standstill for several seconds before swaying again?

I hope that worked. I fixed the privacy. Not sure how to make it imbed. Pardon my fish. they were anticipating being fed so they were rather in my face.

And u do run 1 in wave mode. Both is too much on my lps. And blows the heads off frogspawn. Incidentally the flow seen is about 4 1/2 feet from the wp40 set on w1.

    That's great, thank you.

My flow is nothing like that. Not at all.

Glad it helped. I know its not the most high definitions of videos. what amazes me is that my CBB can stand on his nose hunting down pods in that current and barely looks like he is working. My Naso loves to ride the wave from end to end.

my friend with a 300g has about 100x turnover. IMO you can only have too much flow if its too focused in one spot.
