This darn corals needs to go. It kills anything within 5 inches. This is it's 3rd victum. The other 2 were both montipora.

This time it was just a branch that dropped off, but the tank is not big enough for this type of aggression.

I had heard they can extend their zone much farther with lighter flow. I am sorry to hear about this. I am with you on it is time for the coral to go.

Wow. Thanks for sharing. Great pics.
What kind of hydnophora is that specifically?
Is this behavior found in all of them?

I believe they all are that way from what I have read. I read in low flow environments they can extend the sweepers to a foot or more.

    Hydnophora Bonsai

I have had a couple of the branching type and yes they were aggressive, but this one I have even seen attacking coralline algae. By far the most aggressive Hydnophora I have had, and it grows quickly.

Oh great, the tank is not even 2 feet across. I put it in the sand bed because it was causing too many issues. I guess the flow is not high enough in that corner. BTW there was nothing left of this frag of kenya this am.

I picked up a green neon hydnophora recently. I think I will trade it out soon now. Thanks for the heads up. k+

    Your very welcome Matt!

I really like the branching neon, but too aggressive for sps and soft corals. And I too will making the trip to the LFS today. :)
