I'm scared of my zoas!!

I will frag, poke, prod, and h arras my zoas w/ unprotected hand. Then rinse my hands off, dry them and eat my dinner. I have yet to die...YET

The toxin works similar to that of pufferfish and tropical poison frogs. What it does is it blocks the receptors of a nerve and stops the chemical gradient between the cells. The sodium cannot flow into the cell, thus no depolarization... and the potassium is allowed to slowly leak out of the cell, thus hyperpolarization. Essentially as it spreads through your body you are conscious of the growing paralysis spreading more and more as the potassium slowly leaks out of your cells. You eventually die from the action potentials in your diaphragm ceasing... leading to complete consciousness and inability to move during suffocation.

i handle mine with out gloves and with cuts. but when I frag them Ill wear gloves and eye goggles. I did have some like squirt before..glad it shot the other way
