i'm going to bild a LED reef lights i need to know what spetram i need

    Hi as you all know i love DIY i fill more in tune with my aquerium when i do and i need to change the lights because i am going to strar my reef and looking on the web i came across LED's i love them the intensety of MH, but with out the bill!!!!>>> but the LED star at $1500.00 and for my tank is in the $2000.00. p.s. i dont think so... so i have the suplyers and aberything but i need to know the difrens 10,000k
    15,000k
    20,000k
    how many lumis thos a reef tank needs
    what color wave levels
    for blue,white,amber,ultra vilet,
    or thos it do better in full spectrom light
    or ... what is recomended

    Here's a starting point. Photosynthetically active radiation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Design with PAR in mind. That will tell you how many of what wavelength LED's you will need. I looked into this and decided it wasn't cost effective yet. Some of the LED's were quite expensive when you start getting into narrow spectrum LED's. Then there's LUX measurements and what not. Lots of science involved with this type of project.

    yep you hit that one out of the park. Really I'm not good at diy stuff though so you will need to look elsewhere other than me. Kudos on multiple languages. What is your first language??
