    well its not like we can identify it now that its dead... but a type of moon they said "they get it all the time. its supposed to have soft polyps on top. thats what my lfs said it was" those were exact words from my lfs.

    Actually, to properly ID a coral, you need to look at it's structure under magnification. The polyp ID can only get you so far, same with growth form, ie. massice, plating, etc.
