    ok as promised here are some pictures:

    day 1 6/10/13

    Day 7 6/17/13 4 doses of algaefix light reduction 5 hours daily and 10ml H2O2 daily

    making some progress, everything I'm reading about algaefix says dose number 5 is the magic one.. crossing my finger..

    Mine is totaly gone !!!

    Added 4 mexican turbo snails
    Added 1 blenny
    Changed gfo for seachem
    Did 2% water change daily
    Reduced the feeding to once a day

    I too switched from bulk GFO to phosguard, I can get phosguard(250ml) locally for 7 dollars. easier and cleaner then GFO to deal with.. no issues with corals.. we shall see..

    you don't.. the bottle says run until you start seeing po4 rise then replace.. I don't have a PO4 tester just yet.. I split the bottle in 3 equal parts, and run it for about 6 days each. once I get out of this nightmare and in the clear again, I will be switching back to GFO and switching out monthly.. when i was running GFO with this slime out break it would clog my slow tumble in about 2 days, with the phosgaurd i lock it in between sponges using the inserts in the phosban reactor backwards on full flow. no clog. I'll take a picture. IMO using any phosphate removing media passively is a waste of money.. within a few days just about everything in an aquarium is covered in a slime coat so that fine mesh bag doesn't get much flow through it, just my 2 cents..
