If its bacterial then a UV would only help to keep the waterborne spores from spreading (like if you scub it off the rock and its floating around in the water). Might help, but doesnt really solve the underlying issue.

If you have one i wont hurt to run it, but I wouldnt buy one just for this untill you learn more about the type of algae/bacteria

wonder if aggressive removal AND aggressive water changes would work? You are using RO water right?

It is exactly the same thing shown on the previous picture !!

That been said, i already run a gfo reactor. My tank been running for half a year now and yes i do use RO/DI water.

So now what do i do ? Lolll I can't let this go!!

Any idea which snail would eat that?

Btw anyone can give a name to this bacterial/algae?

This may or may not help, but when I was researching how to get rid of dinos and similar bacteria and algae, people were suggesting to keep pH, alk and mag levels on the high end, so double check, pH, alkalinity, and magnesium and see if they have creeped down.

I've had this stuff for months went away then hit me even harder. I believe my dry rock is fueling it, at wits end. Just started my chemical warefare this week. Brought my mag up to 1800, algeafix at 7ml every 3 days and h2o2 on algeafix off days.. will post results.
