I found a strange looking growth on one of my rocks after transferring it from one tank to another. I have a picture but I don't know how to post it. I'm going to try and insert it but, in case it doesn't show, I'll describe it. It is a small circular growth that is light purple in color and feels spongey. It is about the size of a quarter and is on one of the first LR's I bought a year ago. There is a smaller piece close by that is roughly 1/4 round. I have only one type of shroom in the tank right now and it is red. Thanks for the help. Sorry if the picture doesn't load.[IMG]

Well it loaded but geeze it is small. Hope everyone can see it clearly. The color in the picture is more purplish than the growth itself.

Any idea on species ? It is definitely a hitch hiker as I only have one other mushroom colony.

Is it okay to just leave it in there? It is a nice addition due to the coloring.

Yes indeed. They're not harmful and will even filter your water a bit.
