Matt, the Harlequin/Ornate ghost pipefish is found in tropical reefs in the western and southwestern Pacific, Indian Ocean reefs, these include tropical reefs around several South East Asian countries, basically Australisia, also several pacific islands and the East Coast of Africa. Although they have a wide distribution range they are an uncommon species.

A variation of the Harlequin ghost pipefish is the Velvety ghost pipefish which looks more like a a barber's shaving blade.

Harlequin ghost pipefish grow to between 5 and 5.5 inches and like chameleons can change their colors to blend with their surrounding. Females use their large wing like pelvic fins to carry eggs until they hatch.

Those interested to know more about this unique fish check out this article Matt posted earlier this year.

Entacmaea Quadricolor aka bubble tip anemone is the Maroon Clowns only host anemone in the wild.

In captivity Maroons take to Doreensis anemones as readily as they do BTA's, and also Malu anemones and Sebae anemones.
Carpet anemones such as Haddonis and Giganteas have a tendency to melanise.
Maroons without anemones generally turn a deep burgundy maroon.

Thank you blue water. My next goal is to buy some different breeds off you. I already have a domino clown paired with a black misbar ocellaris.

    The tri color saddlebacks

    Designer clown ibw

    A platinum paired w a keyhole Picasso.

I'm in love w the designer clowns those three will be my next pairs ordering off of you. Waiting until I do my big tank.

My real question for you is. Hosting. Given my current pair the domino misbar combo. Neither one of them swims near any corals. They both love the top of the tank. Even though they are the only two fish in my tank. Is there any nem or coral you can suggest for these two. I already have a elegance, hammer, torch star polyps, gonipora, an duncans. Tons of softies that they don't care for.

With your experienceand knowledge. Is there any chance I can get them to host something or will they stay free swimmers forever?
