Wow that stinks. Feeding has been ok? Particularly for the clam? Any one been getting aggressive lately?

I cannot come up with anything either. I had exactly the same thing happen to me a couple of years ago. I finally blamed it on my Ca fluctuation and bought a Ca reactor.

Could be, but they are not anywhere near each other. Actually, now that I think about it, I did a back to back water change(20g each) not to long ago and I think thats when it started. Could that be the problem and how do I fix it?

That shouldn't hurt anything unless the replacement water through the salinity or pH way out of wack>

Run a boat load of carbon in case something polluted the tank. Double check the temp of the tank to make sure the thermometer is reading right. The only other thing I can think of is, was the water you added to the tank temp adjusted? If not you could have shocked the clam and coral. It's just a thought.
