thanks guys. I have no MAG 3 lying around, but do have a Mag 5 and Eheim Compact 2000. I might give the Eheim Compact 2000 a try. My sump is tight so that is why I was trying to get away with a MJ1200.

I put the Mag 5 in. Now I have tumble. I have the the valve before the reactor almost open all the way to get decent tumble. I wonder if a Mag 3 would do it if I need to open the mag 5 this much.

    thanks again,

    Mike

Here is my 420ml-ish BP run by Mag3 and its dialed back a bit.

With no cap on the bottom, how do you load the pellets in the reactor and not have them get crammed up the pipe while screwing the top down?

Fill up the reactor with the tank water first like half way, and twist the pipe into the pellets. The pipe never gets clogged if you do it slowly this way.

Are you still running the bp's on your tank?

What's your take on them? What do they do for you? I've researched my butt off, so I understand them and I'm thinking about starting them. Just want your personal exp with them.

Even tho I recommend anyone who wants to lower NO3/PO4, its a somewhat touchy method. Im having a decent result maybe because I started to run this from the very beginning.

The reason why I decided to take this route initially was because of this Steve Wright's carbon dosing thread. If you haven't, you should check it out.
