    fsukum, my friend,

If that's your goal, unless you are running a Calc reactor (I'm not, yet anyways),

Use 'Mrs Wages Pickling Lime'. It's a powder.

I bought mine at Piggly Wiggly (grocery store).
It came in a 1 poound bag for about $3. I bought two, and still on my first bag, about 5 months later.

You put a few teaspoons in some RO water, stir. Stirred, not shaken- J/K
Then you can pour it slowly in your sump like I do, OR,
Drip it in slowly, as in an ATO, etc.

Very cheap and solves the goal you want, at a FRACTION of the cost.

It's not my idea, learned on reef sites.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, my coral isn't growing fast enough for the need of an ATO:cry:. I think my numbers dropped from the water change I did on Friday.

My sg was at 1.0235. That might explain my lower numbers.

I had a similar problem a couple of years ago and switched to the bulk reef supply 2 part system. Used their calculators and over abou 10 days got my numbers in line and they have been there every since. Best thing I did for. My reef was get away from the kent a and b solutions. The BRS stuff is cheap and it works.

I rarely have to dose. My reef is small (20 gallons with 2 handfuls of coral frags). My numbers dropped significantly after a water change.

Kent's servers were down, so they weren't able to provide me that info today, but as soon as they come up, they will send me the concentrations!

    The concentrations are as follows:

Calcium is 75,000 ppm so each milliliter adds 75 mg of calcium.

Alkalinity is a little trickier to calculate as there is both carbonate and bicarbonate in the formula and these will change back and forth in concentration depending on the pH. Alkalinity is also affected by borate which is also in Nano Part B.

However the net amount of carbonates (both types) is 191,700 ppm so each milliliter adds 191.7 mg of carbonate into the system.

I am not really sure where to go with that. I need ppm/mL per gallon.
