I'm looking for a few different breeds of snails for my FW tank. Only, I'm sort picky...

I want snails that grow to at least an inch or so...and I don't want a billion of them (considering I'd feel horrible when I clean my tank and kill them all!!)

And here's another catch! If I can have at least 3 DIFFERENT breeds so that they won't over populate my tank, I will!

I just need somebody to dig underneath my gravel and aerate it^^

Also, if anyone can point me in the direction of a fish that enjoys eating tasty things that rot underneath the rocks and plants, that'd be great too!

    Thank you!!!

Before getting starfish, research. If you have a reef tank many starfish are not reef safe...

I see you have a freshwater tank. How about plecos and ghost shrimp?

My son has a 10g mollie tank with two snails that look like turbo snails and a pecostomous. we had them acclimating in a bowl and one of them climbed out and fell on the ground and one broke his shell, he ended up dead. the turbos are a lil over an inch.

+1 karma for snail suicides suck, and this one sounds to have been unpreventable.

That's the plan. I'm having different small breed plecos (I love them all though...)
And do ghost shrimp help clean up too?

    Thanks for all the help!

I use Golden Apple snails in my FW frog aquarium...

Stupid frog still eats them... but it's rare because of their size. I can only buy them big because of this predator

I've seen them get to about 1" diameter and I have had them in gold and blue (blue being more of a bluish grey, hey! kind of like the blue color I'm posting on right now!)
