Wish you luck with the recovery....I do notice you have a phos reactor in there as well. I would take the GFO offline also along with the calcium reactor and step back as everyone says. I always associated my pale coral with running GFO and not enough nutrients. Even with having a little nitrate in the tank was useless without having at least a little phosphates in there as well. Kinda like having gas and no car to put it in lol....You have a small system so a bit of GFO will strip that water clean really fast i think.

Are you dosing any kind carbon dosing to the tank? Bio pellets, vodka, nopox ?

My vote is going to be bacterial bloom

Well not sure if this helps..

My monti caps look like yours lately. I've been traveling and so busy I haven't feed anything in weeks. So perhaps mine are starved as well. So thanks for posting this as it may help me as well.

I've been feeding extra, even added another fish, since the bottom dropped out from under my phosphates. But the cloudiness is killing me. We'll see what happens.

Yep I took it offline after my phosphate hit zero. I've been slowly feeding more and trying to correct it. The cloudiness is the frustrating part.

    Nope. No carbon source.

A way you can determine if it's bacterial vs. micro bubbles is to get a clear glass of the water an set it on the counter. If it's bubbles, it should clear within an hour, if it's bacterial it will take a while longer. Not sure how that would apply to precipitation.

I would think if it were precipitate it would settle when the water stops moving around as well, but with the Ca reactor being offline, that will let you know if it is precipitate or not.

Thanks. This appears more milky than hazy, like when you have microbubbles.
