    My thought was:

    A) Move my established live rock, sand and 28-gallons of water from my current system to my new system

    B) Add 1-gallon of dry sand that used to be in my current setup as well as several pieces of dry rock.

Do you think I should hold off on adding the dry sand and dry rock?

If you plan on moving your livestock immediately, i would suggest you cycle the dry rock and sand in a separate bucket for a couple weeks. There will likely be die off in the sand and rock. By the way, congrats on the new tank. That was a bit of a shocking way to introduce it.

It was a very hasty decision. We were moving to a unit across but I instead asked if we could move from the 3rd floor to a bottom unit; they obliged.

They only gave us 3 days to move, however. I placed all livestock in buckets and filled up the 55 with tank and new water. I let the tank run for 24 hours before putting everything in.

    Everything is peachy right now.

Kevin, you're thread has been an inspiration. My tank has been up for almost a month now and I know my trials are coming, I hope I can be as persistent as you.

I appreicate the sentiment. What drove me was all of the stunning tanks I see on the interwebs, the time and hardwork I put into my tank. I know if time, my tank will get to where I want it and I think that time is nearing closer.

Thanks OFK, I appreciate it. I am very proud of the stand and I am glad I finally get to utilize it.
