I feed my mushrooms a small chunk of cut-up raw shrimp or squid 2 or 3 times a week..
They love it.. Keep them full and maybe the fish will be OK..
    And they will really grow
    Good Luck, Larry

Wow , my clowns love the mushies , I have 3 different types and thats all they like to rub and lay on ... but only one hairy green one and hes not nearly big enough yet to be a threat ... I guess I'll have to have a talk with Bozo and Homie tonight about their sleeping arrangments...

I agree, the pics look my yellow fiji toadstools. I even googled hairy mushrooms to try to find one with poylps like that, which I did not. And then I start to wonder, can toadstools eat fish?!

Ok, I should have finished reading the post before I responded the first time.

I have a red mushroom (not hairy)that is about 6" across. I had a clown disappear a couple months ago... freaky.

I cut up shrimp or squid every 2 months and hand feed my button polyps and I offer it to the HM's -- only about once or twice a year will one (and only ever one) actually take the chunk and close up around it. Kind of cool to see them close up like an anemone since they are smooth and pink underneath -- kids love watching that, but like I said...very rarely.

Oh well....I learned something new - I am good knowing that ::)

I know what you mean.. But you know they don't always close when they eat..
I guess they get lazy, They just lay there and take the chunk..
Don't lock me up but I think they have to be trained to take chunks of shrimp/squid..
    I have young ones that i can't feed ( yet ).. My others, 2 and 3 times a week ..
Same with my Plate coral, and candycanes.. But it takes ALOT of time..
    And they do GROW nice..

    Good Luck, Larry
