    My big hairy mushroom has never eaten one of my fish. It is definitely big enough to though--it took out a silverside I gave it about 2 weeks ago.

    What do you consider large ? my largest HM is roughly 8 inches across - I think he's large. But it was a smaller one, maybe 5 inches, that ate this fish...I am still amazed.

    I'm glad I decided to not get any! Anyway, it would seem to me that even a predatory coral would be more likely to catch a sick or wounded fish, but I could be wrong.

    yeah it is, that just happens to be a pic I have up there. let me find one of the maroon in the shrooms.....I looked and of course when I want to find one, I can't ......out of 4k pics, you'd think I'd have one:confused::-/

    Mine is about 8" across, but it was cloned from a bigger one my buddy has. His is about 12" across. I think elephant ears might get 2'-3' in the wild.

    No wonder I don't keep mushrooms in my tank :( Sorry for the loss or should I say expensive meal you are feeding.

    +1 this is not the first nor the last time i have heard of this, not to common but it can/will happen if they are hungry enough. Especially the bigger mushrooms, i will never trust them with fish.
