What about Marine Snow? Does too much of that stuff raise the nitrate level? How often should I be adding it?

Watch how often you add anything like phytoplankton and zooplankton, it can up the nitrate levels as for marine snow...I've never used it.

Without knowing what kind of corals you have in your tank, I'm not really sure you should be adding marine snow at all.

I have to agree with Tangster I had an out of control problem with nitrates also, I got plans for a DIY coil denitrator and I have now maintained 0 nitrates in my 55 aquarium for months now. The only downfall is they have to cycle like an aquarium so you wont see results untill it does. After it cycles you wont be disappointed no more nitrates.

    My suggestions,

    1. Weekly partial water Change

    2. Feed every other or 2+ days

    3. Do not add no marine snow. IMO all that stuff is bogus makes water quality go bad.

Nice clean healthy tank is the way to go. Keep us updated please.
