Wow, the thread that would not die...
But it's a great topic, glad to see it still going!
built my sump, big mistake my sump was 70% ful when i unplug the pumps and it overflowed. Also I have the CPR overflow box. i cant get rid of the bubble. Any advice? Also how can I keep the overflow quiet from sucking. Also what do I need to prvent the pipe going back to the main tank from suction when the power goes out
wow, resurected from the archives again!
SN25P - take a look at this thread, it will answer many of your questions, then come back with any specific questions you still have and we will see what we can do to help.
Thanks for a helpful link. It answered most of my question.
Here are my following concerns
1. Too much micro bubbles coming back on my display tank. Now I see some Air bubbles coming out of my rock
2. Current is too strong, perhaps I can get a valve to adjust the water flow? My return pump is 600GPG.. too strong?
3. I tried putting filter socks on my overflow, but the water keeps going up and down
1, aqua lift your overflow box. 2, check valve AND/OR drill a syphon break. a syphon break in your return can plug by coraline snail, etc.. and check vavle can jam up as well. Its good to have redundancy as I learned being a pilot.
I have a aqua one 620, my problem is that i would like to build a sum for it to house my skimmer, heater etc, i have searched the net for advice with no result, i know there is not a lot off room to work with ! but im not one to turn a challenge down, im runnig 2 fluval 304's for filltration, v4 skimmer, aqua beam lighting.
1 royal grammer
1 valentini puffa
1 cleaner wrass
1 pink spotted gobbie
I have around 7 soft corals which all seem to be healthy and doing well, water tests, read zero, 10% water change every 2 weeks.
I love it when I start reading through a thread and don't realize the posts are 7 years old til i'm halfway through haha
a pic of your overflow box will help troubleshoot further. also check out this thread to silence the drains.
