how to keep pistol shrimp out of overflow box

    put a little leash on him lol. and stake it into the sand. 1/4" would be good I think. I doubt he will get through that. 1/2" would be too big.

    Well I've had him up close and personal 3 times in the last 3 days and I'm almost 100% he could fit through the 1/4" stuff I'd have to use window screen or something of that nature but I feel that would restrict flow

    how about using window screen and punching some holes out in it to make it slightly larger openings?

    You must have a baby shrimp. Mine is huge. Probably 2.5". I just wish he would make himself seen more. He never calls either.

    Yes he's tiny an inch or less long and less than 1/4" wide

    could you maybe put him in the sump until he grows a little more? At least it would save you the hassle of having to keep getting him out of the overflow.

    I guess it's a possibility. I have a fuge section but it's empty. He escaped again last night. I'm getting pretty good at flushing him into the sock filter removing that shaking him into a cup and dumping him back into the tank.

    Perhaps a retarded question but.... You do have a thick sand bed right? Or at least some sort of sand bed
