    6) able to empty your tank on the floor within two seconds

    ;D

They are really cool IMO. The neon green variety deserve a tank all for themselves as they are really cool looking. However, they have no place in a tank with expensive livestock.

The spec looks to be on the small side. It might be ok for the smallest species but not the best idea imo. I have never seen anyone maintain a mantis shrimp tank for looks, it usually gets covered in algae due to laziness and the mantis storing food. Most people already have a reef for looks so a mantis tank is to own an interesting creature.

His species could not damage a tank. There are few species that can damage an aquarium, none of which are common hitch hikers. I suppose a rock slide could occur if you have rock stacked up and sitting on the sand but that would be more your fault than the mantis shrimps.

Well, there it is. I'm very glad it's out of my tank and won't buy rock that live again. Had a trap all made but when I saw it sitting right out in the open I had to go for it with the scissors.

That's cool... I don't see how you could cut him in half with scissors but not catch him with a net...

You killed it... what did that poor creature ever do to you to deserve being cut instead of being caught. You really shouldn't be setting up an aquarium. Most everyone that sets up atank is doing it to cultivate life not end it. JM2C
