We use to puncture seahorses with these issues, but we saw an increase in infections.

Wasn't there something about using magnesium that helped with blockages?

Have you tried medication to treat the problem? Could be a bacterial infection. Furan 2 would work if it is a bacterial issue.

The little guy is still going. I think getting a little bit better. He's still eating strongly. still struggling to stay down at the bottom though, but not as much on his back as he was, now he goes between swimming down normally and a little bit sideways.

I have not tried any medication yet. I might get some of that (after reading up on it) and see how that goes.

My Rodi filter arrived today so I will do a big water change of that to see if a bit better water quality helps him along.

Thanks all for contributing to this thread.

Overnight the clown has got REMARKABLY better!. He is not struggling to stay down as much and is able to actually swim to all areas of the tank. He still needs to put in little bit of effort to get down but not anything near as close to what he was before.

I am thinking that he will make a full recovery :). Yay :).
