I don't know what is does. Ask my government .....They apparently think it helps them live, but these are also fish that weigh 20Lb. or so. I'm not saying go shove a needle into your fish i was just thinking on personal experience with swim bladders.

It's been a year since I've been deep sea fishing, but the fish(usually snapper) once have the bladder's popped seem to swim down just fine. I don't know what happens once you can't see them, but I guess it works. I would hate the idea of poking my fish, but if he's going to die you never know, it could work. I would assume you would need a much smaller needle for a clown.

    Yeah very true.

I just fed them and he worked hard to eat but he ate much more than the last feed. He will need to keep his energy up.

He is starting to poo, which is good, cause that might be the cause of the blockage.

    Will wait and see.

Made it through another night. He ate some food again this morning.

Still floating on his back though.

Will fast him for 24 hours and see how he goes.

Thats Great! Now that I read what you are describing behavior wise I have a very murky memory of this happening to one of my brothers percula, But I was very young and it could have been a clown thing...

Onto the third day.... Hes still eating very strongly, but working hard to stay on the bottom. I fasted him for 24hr but he has shown no improvement.

Not really sure what else to do, but wait to see if it passes.
